Chinese New Year!!!
Tuesday, February 15, 2011, 11:20 PM

Chinese new year was definitely one of the most family fun filled gathering of each year. nope, its not about the ang pows nor food. its more of that lovable feeling and comfort to see everyone, relatives young or old, aunties and uncles, cousins , and future generations! its fun to get together for once each year. Happy Bunny Year by the way =) So this new year for me was kinda plain . Didn't do much visiting as much as having people visiting us! lol. since I live with my grand dad, my mom's side had a few relatives dropping by to spend the new year with. Its sweet! not moving to get ang pow! haha its like the ang pow naturally comes to us instead hahah joking. lets make it clear, its not about that. *grins* Before chinese new year began, mom decided to have a short trip to Ipoh to visit my god mother who in fact was living alone in a massive house AND the reason we went there was because she was celebrating her 82 birthday. INSANE AIN'T IT?! That right there really sums up all don't it. Every thing about my aunt really touched me and pretty much motivates me to keep moving on . She's a real sweet heart. Stayed in her house for two days . I can believe now that theres absolutely nothing NOTHING much to do or see in ipoh other and eat, Eat and EAT! had famous ipoh curry mee and sah hor fun. I still can't believe people eat curry mee in the morning as early as 7am though. its crazy! had a lovely dinner the following day with all my aunts and uncles from ipoh. had a fantastic dinner at a hip restaurant. yee sang ftw!
Before we left for KL. I went around my aunts massive garden outside to cam whore ahah tried testing my photography skills with nature. really awesome experience to be in. walking around bare footed to snap pictures haha don't mean to sound cocky here but I guess I did some wicked job though . At least mom was impressed haha
the very much popular curry mee shop at ipoh . why so famous? it's always a full house , nearly sold out at barely lunch time, and we had to wait an hour to be served! immense. the shop is a history in the making legendary
testing my photography skills at the garden.
the different flowers I found in the yard.
this reminds me of bali in a way. kinda beachy don't it
fav pic of all! the blissful view of the sky. what a beautiful morning that was!
the roads of ipoh!
historic buildings filled the sense of ipoh . resembling a picture frozen in time!
playing around with my shadow. lol. hello me!
panoramic view of the skies!
On the first day of Chinese New Year the Bunny sent to me.... ang pows! lol My uncle and his wife was loving enough to spent the first day of chinese new year with us at home. My brother made roast chicken with his special recipe , got a full roast duck as well, I help with the salad and what else, oh dad made some chinese herb soup and other dishes. was extremely filling! was it a feast indeed! I think it was by far the most bloated I've been in ages! like stuffing myself in delicious food and praying that I don't gain weight lol. Mind you, its the holidays and no matter how someone says it, people will eventually gain weight, especially during chinese new year. hahah true fact . I think I've gain a few pounds to be honest. oh shit!
the massive feast we had for chinese new year. enough to make your mouth water.
On the second day of Chinese New Year the Bunny sent to me... more ang pows! went visiting this time, my dads side. Practically a majority of my uncles and aunties from my dads side lives in kepong. travelling there from cheras takes a solid half an hour or more. thankfully we all reached there in one piece! Had some great chats and food... again. and as always, aunties and uncles always point out the changes in me and my brothers. cheecky in a way, I find it to be uber funny listening to people saying random stuff about us. lol well thats how I look at it. appreciate it though =))
hand made chinese new year cards!
On the third, fourth , fifth day f Chinese New Year the Bunny sent to me... nothing but more food , more visiting and more ang pows =) I can't quite recall what went down these few days. All I can remember is the CNY party at my mom's office. They had a special lion dance perform ace as well. pot luck babyyy!!! my mom cheated and bought cheese cake instead of baking one herself. lol. It was weird having mummy and daughter time but after all it was chinese new year. Had mad times during the celebration . the lion dance was definitely the highlight of chinese new year for me. Great performance! Great food! Great people! Over all great atmosphere =)
yee sang!!!
Lion dance performance
the following days of Chinese New Year the Bunny sent to me... Mah Jong , Shopping, AND more Mah Jong! Basically gamble mah jong till our heads fell off. literally. both my bro , mum and I were insane at it. sounds addictive much?! I won some rounds so it was all good =) other than that , shopping time with mum was wicked! had a blast moving from one mall to the next. good times!
I guess that pretty much sums up the new year for me. Alot of eating and gambling and ang pows. How can anyone be unhappy about that =) Let me leave you with a sweet picture of my bunny kissing her toy! haha Happy Chinese New Year and have a bless celebration and Berry Bunny Year =) ~ cheers
